Were you looking for ?  For the past few years, Suzi Quixley has been having her mid life crisis - working as a textile artist.  Suzi's other website featuring Contemporary Design with an Asian Twist is at www.suziqdesign.com.au.   It includes unique Asian textiles, handmade soft furnishings, Asian art, Chinese furniture and a variety of gifts.

Apart from this brief career detour, Suzi has worked in the Community Services Industry for over 30 years, including 4 years in Singapore.  All Suzi's work is driven by a belief that Australian society (and other western-based social structures) fail to address the human rights of the majority of their citizens ... and that working toward social change is a fundamental ethical responsibility for all community services workers.  More detailed information on Suzi's professional background is available.

Suzi is currently re-establishing her consultancy business.  She offers a range of services, with a focus on research and writing for non-government organisations in Australia (and overseas), and training/facilitation for community organisations in Adelaide. 

The breadth and depth of Suzi's engagement with community services, is reflected through the variety of free download articles on this website.  Topics include: community development, conflict processing, gender issues, helping skills, organisational development, personal development, sector development, self employment, trainer training, values/ideology/ethics and writing skills.

Suzi has also self-published several papers, focused on helping skills, organisational development and training/learning methods.  These have been widely used by both community organisations and tertiary institutions.  She is currently updating these, and planning to write a text on community services work from a social justice perspective.

Suzi is very passionate about her work!  This is partly evidenced through her ongoing to commitment to providing research and commentary on burning current social issues.   Her first (of many planned) resource pages is on the intervention in Aboriginal communities.  Another on the meaning of means testing is in progress, and some discussion starters are available.
